As opposed to childhood belief, there seems to be no end to exams in life. Even obtaining a CDL or commercial driver’s license requires a resident of Charlotte, NC to clear an exam, commonly known as a Department of Transportation or DOT exam.  The strict regulations leave little scope for exceptions and rightly so. The essence behind the DOT exam is to ascertain whether a commercial driver is fit enough to handle the pressure of long, short and interstate driving and trucking. Public safety is the key here. And that is why, a medical certificate is required to be submitted with the license application. This medical certificate is mandatory for the exam.

Normally, a qualified doctor checks for various types of disabilities and diseases. From physical disability to diabetic status to visual and hearing test, a medical health exam is a very important part of DOT exam. DOT physicals are not to be taken easily and should be forwarded with utmost honesty.

An increase in demand has recently seen a gradual opening of many DOT exams centers in Charlotte, NC region. So, if you’re a commercial driver who needs to get the health certificate, now is the time to do so. The certificate is valid for 2 years under normal circumstances.
